Rhommel has an international career of more than fifteen years in roles that include but are not limited to DevOps engineering, site reliability engineering, and technical leadership in successful startups and mid-size enterprises.

He spearheaded Site Reliability Engineering at Apptio, one of the fastest-growing enterprise SaaS companies, leading and growing a high performant remote organization of more than 40 engineers worldwide.

His achievements include developing and executing the strategy that allowed the company to migrate more than 70% of their workloads from their old datacenters to AWS, transform their operational model adopting Site Reliability practices across all product lines, enable their physical datacenter closures in 2021, and influence the executive leader ship to adopt cascading goals to provide focus and direction to the whole company.

Rhommel’s work impacted a wide range of teams incl. engineering, infosec, Customer Support, Finance, and Sales to transform the company mindset increasing the reliability of all product lines and reducing the time to market of new features and capabilities.

On his role, he was also part of the due diligence of several M&A, providing assessments and guidance to the Senior leadership and influencing their decisions.

Rhommel is also an Angel Investor at Sydney Angels, helping empower founders in Australia to build great companies that develop SaaS products and create healthcare opportunities. His experience on M&A’s allows him to advise companies where needed.
